Painting Guide for Seraphon Kroxigor with Drybrush & Contrast Paints
Moar big lizards!
Another banger of a kit and a joy to paint, I also have 3 warforged built that I am looking forward to painting.
Method
- Base coat in Grey Seer
- Smother all the skin, overlapping the scales a little bit but no going totally over the scales, with Volupus Pink
- Cover all the scales and spikes?, overlapping the skin a little bit, with Asurman Blue
- Reasonably heavy dry brush of Fulgrim pink over the skin and a lighter dry brush of Fulgrim pink over the scales
- Give the skin a wash of Carroburg Crimson
- Wash the scales and spikes with Drakenhof Nightshade.
- You want to use these last 3 steps to kind of blend the scales and the skin together, giving a nice uniformity to the model despite the colour contrasts
- Use Agrax Earthshade on the scales
- Give the spikes another wash of Drakenhof Nightshade
- Your model should be looking great and coherent! :)
- For the Big green bit in the weapon first basecoat with Incubi Darkness
- Then Drybrush with Sybarite Green quite heavily before a ligt drybrush of Gauss blaster green
- Then thin down some Warp Lightning and cover it all
- For the gold bits its my usual recipe of Leadbelcher followed by Nazdreg Yellow
- The shaft of the weapon is Black Legion
- The Teeth and Claws were first base coated in wraithbone and then covered in Skeleton Horde
- Any ‘rope’ bits were done in Garaghaks Sewer
- Last but not least, the eyes were done with a coat of Wraithbone, covered with Warp Lightning and a line done in Black Legion
These were super easy and super fun to paint. I think I’ve probably said it enough, but these new Seraphon kits have been amazing. I need to get my hands on some Aggradons!
